I went to Rome ages ago. It was my first trip after I arrived in France. I took a sleeper train from Nice, France to Rome. It was my first time on one, it was noisy and somewhat comfortable. At that age, who is afraid?

My first digital camera was an Olympus Camedia, it was okay for personal use. I wasn’t into photography enough then to geek on gadgets as I was still discovering the joys of travelling and creating memorable experiences.

I remember staying in a small hotel, I forgot what it’s called but the Vatican was walking distance. First place to visit was St Peters, followed by the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. Then there was Castel Sant Angelo which was interesting. I remember walking a lot as well as visiting fountains, churches, bridges, shoe shops and a park. I can’t remember what they were but at one time I took a taxi towards a museum from my hotel and almost ended up to the front seat because the taxi driver accelerated then abruptly stopped at a traffic light while swearing in Italian (well, it sounded like swearing). After that experience, I just walked around.

The Vatican Museum. Then, you can actually wait for other people to finish walking down so you can take empty picture. Here I waited for this guy in this general area, higher and it will only be his head. lol.

Unfortunately, these were the only photos I can find. Twenty plus years of technology changes, it is hard to keep track of digital files. I like these because I am in them, thus, I made sure to burn it on a CD then upload it to Flickr and so on.

What’s with this post? Well, my children have grown and I’m probably hinting to my husband that I want to visit Rome again and this time, with him in tow.
